Our 1st Community Clean-up on Prospect Avenue

Our First Community Clean-Up was a success!

Selfless Hands Foundation found an amazing hands-on way to pour into the community. We adopted Prospect Avenue between 23rd and 36th Street. The plan is to have a quarterly cleanup that will involve picking up trash, connecting with volunteers, assisting neighbors and having fun along the way.

We kicked off our first community clean-up project on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. We met at the Thelma R. Parks Elementary School. We had a total of 24 volunteers and filled 17 trash bags. Throughout the event, we met members of the community who expressed gratitude to the volunteers for their service in the neighborhood. We also gained a new sponsor, A Family That Prays (AFTP), who will provide members of the community with air filter replacements.

We are looking forward to the next clean-up that will take place on Saturday, July 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
