Coping with COVID-19: Episode Two

Our second conversation of the "Coping with Covid-19" series took place on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 6 p.m. via our Facebook Live and Zoom.

Our guest speaker is local Mental Health Professional, Sharron Smith.

Sharron Smith is a native of Kansas City, Missouri, where she spent her childhood developing an inquisitive mind about human behavior. She attended Langston University where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, she went on to further pursue a Master’s degree in Mental Health with the emphasis in Marriage and Family therapy. Simultaneously, she gave herself to ministry and served her community with the hope of positively impacting the lives of others.

Mrs. Smith currently practices therapy at Oakwood Springs Behavioral Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she teaches Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques for patients to use as coping skills to enhance their quality of life. She is dedicated to the empowerment of all people through her service.
