Community Clean Up: Vol. 6 Clean Up During Covid-19
Hey There,
Here’s to the clean up on May 30th! We had so much fun being back together after being on lockdown for 2 months due to Covid-19. Our adopted street on Prospect Avenue between N.E. 23rd and N.E. 36th Street was in need of our assistance. We had a total of 6 members and volunteers participate. We were able to fill up 2 garbage bags from N.E. 23rd Street to N.E. 30th Street and 1 bag filled from 30th to 36th Street. Although we were low in numbers, we were elevated in enthusiasm and service.
Although Covid-19 has put a pause on many things, we couldn’t help but feel motivated to bring service and care to our community. We were even able to connect with a few neighbors during the clean up. Many members of the community and neighborhood have had to reach out for local assistance as the employment market had taken a decrease due to the pandemic.
As we concluded the street clean up, we came across our Adopt-A-Street sign, we remembered why and who we provide service. In the midst of a global pandemic, it our job to provide assistance to one another. You may never know that your neighbor is struggling until you let it be known you,too have been inconvenienced by the same or similar situation.
Selfless Hands is always here to provide a helping hands to anyone in need during this Covid 19 Pandemic!
Until next time, wear your masks, wash your hands, and Stay Safe!
